Bea Lamadrid Bayón is a Spanish emerging artist based in Amsterdam and Andalusia who graduated from Moving Image & Visual Arts from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam (2024). Until today, she has been experimenting with video, performance, movement and 3D. Lamadrid Bayón has a background in dance and film and performance production studies.

She works with performance art using realities, characters, social taboos and the different perceptions to play with the audience position, sound and space. In her live performances she directs the focus toward the provocation of the audience and the challenge of intimate human conflict and taboos.

She plays with different personalities within the performers/characters to create the work. Making use of what's real to create something magical, exploring emotion and simplifying things to experience and explain them. Summarising an existing emotion or feeling present in the world. Observing certain human behaviour and feelings, putting a spotlight on them, resulting in playing with reality.

In her video works she travels from video archives thought dreams, storytelling, animation and 3D. All her works has a choreographed base where images, edit, the body and movement are fundamentals. Likewise the narratives told by each character or element through their encounters are what conforms the body of the works.

Her archive images create stories and narratives out of already existing material, using a documentary language. Having the editing as a medium, her video projects germinates from sensations that only the audiovisual world can sustain.
